The sun was shining today for day 2 of Wimbledon 2011 and the results were just as we expected. Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic and also Caroline Wozniack made it through to round two. However, it took Federer a little bit of time to get going, but once he got into gear there was no stopping him.

There are some who have doubted Roger Federer and believe that he has started to lose his touch, but some of the shots that he made today seemed a little impossible. Although it would be nice to see Andy Murray win this year, we cannot help but cheer Federer on to take his 7th win at Wimbledon.

He was up against Mikhail Kukushkin, and although the Russian showed signs of putting pressure on Federer, he finally beat him 7-6, 6-4, 6-2. Novak Djokovic showed that he was on top of his game and made light work of Jeremy Chardy. You have to wonder what would have happened if he had met Federer today, especially as he dispatched Chardy 6-4, 6-1, 6-1?

World number one Caroline Wozniacki was also on court today and was playing Arantxa Parra Santonja on the No.1 court. The first set was easy work and by the second Santonja tried to make things a little more difficult, but the world-class player still beat the 105th-ranked Spaniard 6-2, 6-1.
